Asst. Merchandiser Manager (New headcount/ 5 days / Full Benefits)

On behalf of a leading global sourcing and supply chain solutions provider, we are seeking a strategic, energetic, and highly capable Assistant Merchandiser Manager. This is a high-impact "step-up" role designed for an experienced supervisor or Senior Merchandiser looking to elevate their career.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between product strategy and operational excellence, overseeing the end-to-end product lifecycle—from initial trend analysis and assortment planning to international vendor negotiation and production readiness. You will help guide cross-border teams to ensure all products meet top standards of quality, profit margin, and corporate sustainability.

Job Duties:

  • Plan & Execute: Develop and execute clear merchandising plans that meet financial targets and align with brand identity.

  • Market Insights: Analyze market trends, competitor movements, and historical sales data to optimise product performance.

  • Assortment Strategy: Drive seasonal product planning, balancing reliable core programs with exciting new product innovations.

  • Sourcing & Supplier Management: Manage China and Southeast Asia sourcing operations; identify, vet, and maintain strong partnerships with factories and material suppliers to mitigate supply chain risks.

  • Cost Control: Manage product cost breakdowns strictly to maximise profit margins without compromising quality.

  • Production & QA: Maintain top-tier manufacturing standards, ensuring compliance with all QA/QC requirements and tracking schedules for 100% on-time delivery.

  • Sustainability: Drive ethical sourcing practices and ensure supplier compliance with environmental regulations.

  • Team Leadership: Support, mentor, and scale regional merchandising and production teams.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Design, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure total alignment.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in merchandising and global sourcing, with at least 2–3 years in a team leadership, supervisory, or Senior Merchandiser role.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Merchandising, or a related field.

  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in retail math, cost breakdowns, and profit margin analysis. Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software, ERP systems, or advanced Excel data tracking.

  • Negotiation: Proven track record of negotiating costs and terms with factories; solid understanding of international shipping and trade rules.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Industry Expertise: Strong product background in Apparel, Hard Goods, FMCG, or Consumer Electronics.

  • Supplier Network: An established network of manufacturing partners across China and Southeast Asia.
